TASK 11: FAIR (AUGMENTED REALITY)

For augmented reality, we wanted that our students search information about the muscles and bones and then explain it with augmented reality thanks to the app ChromVille Science.

These are the instructions of the Augmented reality activity:

This is the poster with the information of the activity.

Here is an example of how it works:

And these are the standards that this activity achieves:

For improving this activity, we have thought about asking the students to do a presentation in groups of 5 people in which they have to present some ideas to improve the health of the muscles and the bones. Each group would have different topics in order to not present everybody the same. For example, one group could do “How to take care of our teeth?”, another group “How to maintain our heart healthy?”, etc.

TASK 11: FAIR (STOP MOTION)

For the Stop Motion activity we created an activity with the topic “Photosynthesis”.

Here you can see an example of how would be:

Here is the instructions of this activity:

This is the poster of the Stop Motion activity with its information.

This activity achieves these standards of Natural Sciences:

For improving this activity, a teacher suggested us to add an additional task as asking the children inverted questions such as “What happen if I leave a plant 2 weeks under shadow?” and to include an additional activity in which the children have to take care of their own plant and see how it grows.

TASK 11: FAIR (CODEY ROCKY)

  6. Make the Codey Rocky do a HEXAGON.

This are the instructions of the Codey Rocky for the children:

This is the poster with more information of the activity.

This is an example of how it would be:

Also, we include here the standards that this activity achieves in Mathematics:

1.2 Conoce los números romanos y los usa adecuadamente.

For improving this activity, we could convert it in an exam better than in a review game. Also we could do less complex challenges in the “Last Challenge” because some people said that maybe they were a bit too complex for the kids.

TASK 11: FAIR

This fair was a great experience in which we realized three incredibles activities that we are going to develop in the next posts.

We received a lot of suggestions, but we selected these ones because we think can help us to improve our work and also because the rest of them were opinions that do not say anything that can be useful for us for improve our activities.

TASK 11: STAR

On Tuesday was the day of the fair. We were a little bit stressed because we had to do a great effort. We took our own tables, so we did not depend on University’s staff. We set our stand in the main corridor, where everyone could see us. The night before, we asked Marcos Bote to come to our stand, and we took a photo with all people who listened to our activities. Our suggestions box was full of comments with good comments and things to improve.

TASK 11: TRANSLATOR

The five terms I have selected for this tasks are:
-Coding: Coding consists on prepare a robot to make any action. In this case “game of goose” there were fields were you had to codify Cody Rockey.

-Planning: As in many jobs, organization is the base of all jobs. IN this fair, is clearly identified, because there were so many things to do, so we needed organization as the top of our pyramid.

-Stan: Stan is the place where a person or a group, explain detailedly about a topic. In education, we used it to explain our activities where everybody could hear and use our ideas in their planification and daily routines in class

-Interactive exercises: This is the base of the future education that we are trying to establish in a near future, where students do not learn by listening to a teacher speech, instead, they can touch, or see something in a way that they do not get bored. In this fair, the three exercises we prepared, were interactive.

-Standards: Standard is the way to evaluate an activity. In this fair, we also showed all the standards that teacher had to take into account to develop it.

Ethic problem:

The ethic problem of most of the activities we presented in the fair are that, for two of them, we need technologies that should come from outside the educational material. That means that not all students have the chance of developing the activity. To solve this problem, we should communicate it to the principal if they can give as technological material to develop the activity. ALso, the other problem is that this activity take too many time, and they should be prepared by groups, so maybe not all students participate as we expect from a teacher vision

TASK 11: JOURNALIST

On the 25th of march, we were sent the task of doing 3 activities related to stop motion, augmented reality and codey rocky to present them in a fair. The week after this, we started to think about the activities after having looked for the standards of the course we had chosen and then on the easter holidays, we started to develop this activities. We did some mornings skype to have clear what each one of us had to do and also for being talking while we were working and so the working days were a little bit more enjoyable. The week after the holidays, María and Ana did the videos of how to do the game of codey rocky and how to do the stop motion, respectively. Finally, last Tuesday, 7th of may, we presented our activities on the fair of the faculty of education and we ended very relaxed and happy with the job that we had done.

Now I am going to include two websites that I have visited and that seem very interesting to me:

  • The website from the class that I have chosen is sixinonerict.blogspot.com because I saw their work at the fair and it was extremely good how they presented it and how they organized the materials they had to do the presentation.
  • The website from outside the class that I have chosen is https://www.laopiniondemalaga.es/malaga/2019/04/01/profesor-maristas-evento-mundial-education/1078919.html because it has seemed very interesting to me this conference, which I didn’t know anything about and also because I think that this type of reunions are important to share opinions and experiences with TIC and also I have chosen this webpage because it is the one that shows how a spanish teacher has reached this level.

TASK 11: CURATOR-FARMER

For developing these three activities we have used, in addition of our imagination and creativity, these websites:

Tu navegador no puede mostrar marcos. Visita ORAL B en MindMeister.

TASK 11: ANALYST

This weeke we have enjoyed a lot of things, but the best part was seeing the faces of people when we explained the activity because they liked it, in spite of it, the worst were the nervous before the fair, not knowing if all the effort would have any reward.

We have learnt that we can get inspired from other’s activities and change them in order to adapt them to our necessities in the classroom in a fun way for the children.

On the one hand, we have worked as a real team and we need to conserve the connection we had prepare all the activities and all the materials. However, in the fair we saw great ideas, so for the next time, we need to try to think a step forward in order to do more interesting things and with more applications.

TASK 11: FACILITATOR

This week has been one of the busiest one, but at the end it was one of the best. We started some weeks ago preparing this task, thinking about what can each one of us do.

When we all decided which were going to be the activities we were going to do, I looked for the roles, in order to let the star and the journalist do their job recording the fair. So, the rest, each one was the person who explained the activity to the people: María with the Codey Rocky, Ana with the stop-motion and me (Gonzalo) with the augmented reality. Aurora and Javi filmed the fair and then, when they finished, they helped us explaining all the tasks.

I also chose myself to tell some people to come to see us to the fair. Some of our partners of group 3 came to see us, as a friend that is studying medicine and another one who is in computing. I also told Marcos Bote, our sociology teacher, to come and see us, and he did.

For preparing the fair, we all worked together. For example Aurora was the one who did the instructions, María designed the gameboard of the Codey Rocky, Ana did a lot of things for the stop-motion task, Javi prepare some things for the exercises of the Codey Rocky and I did the questions of the Codey Rocky.
